Quote of the day: "If it doesn't have an underline, then it isn't a link" - Darryn Thank you to everyone who pointed out the 'broken' links. |
Monday, January 24, 2000 Well, it has been a while, but now I am back! I have a new, faster host, and the server can run ASP. Look out soon - I will have the Ultra ASP action site up and running, using the XXXengine for total power. I have ditched the entry tunnel (the bit with orbiting darryn heads) because after looking at the logs I found that half my visitors thought that this page was the extent of the site. And they still told me it was 'cool'. Sycophants. In 'real-world' news, I resigned from my job today - I will be finished in two weeks. I might take a week off, and then go job-hunting crazy. Its not like IT jobs are hard to get ;-Þ Tuesday, October 19, 1999 Today brings a number of small touches to the paradox ring of Shifty sites. That is something that I made up to make all my sites seem like one big happy family. The DNS for SLUTBISCUIT filtered through today, so I had to remove as much stupidly offensive stuff as I could in a hurry. Go check it out. It is not funny. Unless you are an idiot (like me). I have added links to the Shifty Website Paradox Ring websites in the contents bar. Click! Click! Click! I am very proud of the animated 'Shifty website' logo. I plan to use a version on all my sites. Shifty is the name I take as Craptain of [SCoJ] (the Shining Crowbar of Justice). Snotbiscuit.com is maintained by my evil sidekick, Spong (not to be confused with my alter ego 'evil sp0ng' of "Fuck You, Evil Sp0ng" fame). Hence the non-existence of any content. he is currently playing cs_facility (not as well as me). I was unable to add anything to this site over the weekend, due to suffering extreme shock after visiting the Den of Cheese (aka the Cauldron) on Saturday night. Quite the contrast from Simon Caldwell's groovy set at Chinese Laundry. I have added a new character to darryn.net - 'the gorgeous cath'. Perhaps with her super skills she will be the winner of the Amazing Slutbiscuit Make-a-Logo Competition. There will be, like, a prize or something. For details, see the site. Tuesday, October 12, 1999 Today's additions are few, but great. There's darrynchat™. And there's my ICQ status thing (whatever). No one reads this, so I don't really care. Mmm...Kraft Ravioli does it for ME! I got the chat from ICQ - it is a java IRC client, got me hooked for a few hours. I recommend the 'float' mode. Stupid InterNIC sent me an email today saying sorry...snotbiscuit.com cannot be registered. On Saturday I got "registration complete"!? They've fucked me over too much, personally I can't wait for their replacement. Monday, October 11, 1999 Whilst watching walkingrek procrastinate over the Sabs V Report, I unearthed, and 'corrected' an old photo from the 2-800-THUNK launch at the East Village Bar nearly a year ago. I got drunk that night. I may or may not have shouted things at Tim Harrison.
domain craziness In a recent spate of domain-purchasing craziness, I have added to my growing list of domains to be delegated. Those marked with an asterisk (*) were purchased on behalf of others. The contestants are:
Hopefully Spong will do something with snotbiscuit.com, so that I can parody him with slutbiscuit.com. Mine will be 'racier'. regular craziness Today's update brings minor, but important additions to the land that time forgot. I have finally added something to the affiliates page, since I received a link from Taelleon. OMG - an anti-linux page. Affiliates was formerly known as 'leeches'. I have also added in the sabs V report, in an effort to de-procrastinate the walkingrek. Of course, when she does write the copy I will be screwed, because I haven't got the photos developed yet. Oh yeah, and I just knocked together a world domination page, and a contacts page. Tuesday, October 5, 1999 I now have an online store. I have called it darrynShop™ and it is full of Star Wars stuff at the moment. The most I get from any sale is 15 cents, but I am not really doing it for the money. I am doing it because I can. I have been busily scanning away, and in the next week will unveil Stage II of the photos section - the world until now. Another big upcoming event for darryn.net will be the Sabotage 5 review, to be penned by our very own walking rek. I took a disposable camera along, so there should be some interesting photos when they get developed. But the big news - I FOUND ANOTHER BROWSER THAT CAN SEE ME!!! You read right - IE5 is not alone in the darryn.net-compatible browser market. Neoplanet shows darryn.net the way it is intended, and it also rocks, to boot. Don't even think about Opera - practically the whole site is invisible, except for my java heads in the logo, and they seem to have developed a mouse over event that plays the page load sound. The fire doesn't burn either. Stupid Opera.
